Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 random things, facts, goals, or habits about yourself. At the end, choose 10 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment (you’re it!) and to read your blog for instructions. You can’t tag a person who has tagged you. Since you can’t re-tag me, let me know when you’ve posted your blog so I can read the answers!

Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other.
I'm feeling sad about the RCMP tonight. The story of Mayerthorpe is on CTV. That's where four officers were gunned down in cold blood three years ago, the biggest loss of life for the force in a single incident in 100 years. One of the constables had just graduated from the academy. He had only been on duty for 17 days. That sucks.
Arcane holidays
Jan. 25th, 2008 08:56 amFair fa' your honest, sonsie face,
Great chieftain o the puddin'-race!
Aboon them a' ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang's my arm.
The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o need,
While thro your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.
His knife see rustic Labour dight,
An cut you up wi ready slight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!
And that voice talking about humanity and winter? Just makes me swoon.
(For what it's worth, he says "were" three times in this clip, and he sounds perfectly normal to me!)

So this is the way it was, then. She wasn’t going to tell him. Dammit. For a moment he doubted himself. Was it true? Were they right about her? About him? He could feel the bile rising in his throat. No. Not her. Never her. So why? What was she afraid of? Why was she holding back?
He turned back to her, his lip in an angry curl.
“Why did you lie to me?”
His words lashed against the hard grey walls of the interrogation room, telegraphing the threat of what his hands would do if she failed to answer. It was only a matter of time before he got the truth, and they both knew it. She was quivering, cowering, reduced to tears. Like so many suspects before. Usually he was proud of his abilities. Not happy with them, necessarily. Although sometimes, with some suspects, he had to admit in the darkest part of himself that he truly enjoyed this part of his job. But not today. Seeing her afraid of him was almost more than he could bear. He had to do it. He couldn’t show any mercy. He knew they were watching.
“Because I thought you’d think less of me.” Audrey looked at him, imploring him to believe her. He was confused.
“You thought I’d think less of you for sleeping with someone when you thought I was dead?” It didn’t sound plausible, even to him. Sh*t. Come on, Audrey. You’ll have to do better than that. He thought about what was waiting for her if he failed.
She looked at him, eyes brimming. “No, Jack. I thought you’d think less of me for sleeping with someone who turned out to be a traitor.”
He looked at her, trying not to show how much her words hurt him. Trying not to let them see his heart breaking. Oh, Audrey. Sweetheart. Don’t you know me at all? How could you think that I would not be able to understand that?
